Malaga Cove library
The Malaga Cove Library and Art Gallery was designed by Myron Hunt in 1925, an example of the Mediterranean Revival architectural style. The grounds outside the Gallery were landscaped by the Olmsted Brothers.
The interior of the library is also Mediterranean Revival style with furniture made by the Palos Verdes Furniture Guild, replicas of the Renaissance tables and chairs brought from Italy by the Vanderlip family. The library officially opened to the public in 1930 and is listed on both the California Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places.
Farnham Martin Park lies adjacent to the front entrance of the library, dedicated in honor of the Palos Verdes Project's landscape architect and first Superintendent of Parks. Martin was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 1928.
